Computer
security products fall into two main categories; those that
prevent physical theft of computers and laptops including
their accessories, and those that relate to illegally accessing
data.
Physical computer security products include cables, notebook
& laptop security alarms, software to track and recover
stolen laptops.
Cable locks are a visual and physical deterrent; they come
in a variety of styles to suit different applications and
budgets. The main difference is where they attach; most
computers have a security slot, usually identified by a
rectangular plastic blank covering the slot. The slots can
also be found in LCD projectors and flat screen monitors.
Attach the cable to the security slot and loop te cable
around the desk or to an optional anchor plate mounted on
the desk

Other computer
security cable options are low profile locks that are fixed with
super strength glue or adhesive strips to the computer and loop
around the desk, back into the slide track and locked.
All-purpose
locks can be used for other items such as printers, projectors CCTV
monitors.
For maximum-security look towards pin locks, a steel pin secured
through the workstation or desk and then into the PC base.
